accidental escapism

Being creative entails many things: namely having a knack for understanding the nuanced ebbings of design, in one way or another. Be it writing, acting, dancing, or decorating (among the many), those with the creative urge can never seem to rid themselves of its perpetual itch. I find that I often dabble in a variety of mediums, hoping that with a splash of paint, a perfectly arched brow, and an art-fully tossed throw pillow, I, too, can create something of importance and intrigue.

After the last of many career changes, I found myself on a thus-far uncharted path, tight-rope walking the ever delicate balance of design. I found myself immersed in a world that I had only experienced in a recreational manner; suddenly an art-fully tossed throw pillow was a form of expression; a splash of paint was no longer a mistake, but a defining centerpiece; an off-center valance added a liquid feel to an otherwise stationary room. It was a world in which one singular piece could bring a room soaring to life, or send it plummeting into gloomy nothingness; it was a world in which creativity and imagination joined together to make the impossible a reality. And with that, en avant garde - let decorating be your sword.
